At nine years old, Lynne had Rusty — an aggressive Doberman nobody else wanted to deal with. Her mom signed her up for a group class to get some help, and Lynne ended up apprenticing with the trainer from there. She never really left the world of dog training after that, and in the decades since she has trained thousands of dogs across nearly every breed, age, and behavior challenge imaginable.
Along the way that work took her through studio animal training for commercials, movies, and television, handling exotic animals including North American Timber Wolves, and heading the training program at a Beverly Hills pet day spa before moving on as a senior trainer at California K9, working alongside serious protection dogs, competition athletes, and the occasional celebrity client.
She spent over 20 years competing in Schutzhund/IGP and WDA, earning multiple High in Trial wins across different breeds, and served as a continuing education representative, externship coordinator, and curriculum developer for Animal Behavior College — helping train the next generation of trainers.
Blazing Trails K9 Academy was founded in 2000. In 2019, Lynne and her husband Travis brought that same depth of experience to the Uintah Basin, where the academy now serves Vernal, Roosevelt, Duchesne, and surrounding areas, plus virtual clients worldwide.

Film sets and competition rings don't give you months to get a behavior right — you learn to break a problem down, train it, and proof it under real distraction, on a deadline. That's the same skill I bring to your dog's specific, weird, one-off issue: I don't need to have seen your exact problem before to solve it quickly.
High-drive dogs taught me that fighting a dog's nature backfires. The real skill is channeling whatever makes that dog tick — prey drive, food motivation, working instinct — into engagement and self-control instead of trying to suppress it. Whatever your dog is wired for, we use it rather than punish it.
I've raised large working-breed dogs alongside my own four kids — real noise, real chaos, real life, not a quiet training room. I know mom life: the stress, the busyness, the days there's no time left over for anything extra. You'll still have real work to do — there's no version of this without some effort on your end — but we keep it simple and manageable so it fits into the life you're already living instead of competing with it. And we work to build a real relationship between your dog and every person in the house, not just one, so you end up with the family dog you actually pictured.
