Honestly, most people don't know until we talk it through. That's what the free phone consult is for — you tell me what's going on, I ask a few questions, and together we figure out whether private lessons, group classes, or something else is the right starting point.
It's a relaxed 20–30 minute call. We'll talk through your dog's history, what you're dealing with, and what you're hoping for. By the end, we'll have a clear idea of what approach makes sense for your situation.

We will always use positive motivation to teach new behaviors, and provide clear guidance to avoid problems, while working in the least aversive way to achieve the results you need.
With 40 years of experience training thousands of dogs, we have experience with most breeds. We don't discriminate based on breed, size, or age of dog.
Yes. Our puppy programs are built to coach you through some of the hardest parts of puppyhood — not just the problems you're already seeing, but the ones we know are coming as your puppy moves through each life stage. Housebreaking, socialization, biting, basic manners, adolescence — we help you stay ahead of it instead of just reacting once something's already a habit.
Absolutely. Dogs can learn at any age. Older dogs often pick things up faster than puppies because they have longer attention spans — the "old dogs can't learn new tricks" idea just isn't true.
Yes. Fear-based behavior is something we work with regularly. We'll figure out what's driving it and build a plan to help your dog feel more confident, at a pace that's realistic for your dog.
Yes. If your dog has been lunging, snapping, or making you nervous around other dogs or people, please don't hesitate to reach out. We have real experience with this, and we'll always be honest with you about what's realistic. Many of our most rewarding cases have involved dogs other people had given up on.
Our existing programs may be able to help meet the needs of a service dog in training, depending on the tasks required. We have experience with mobility and psychiatric service dog work, and possibly other types as well. That kind of training is a real commitment — typically 1–2 years done properly — and it requires the dog possess the correct temperament for the work (no reactive or aggressive dogs), along with the handler meeting the ADA's legal definition of disability. If that describes your situation, reach out and we can talk through the tasks you need and whether it's a fit.
There is a lot of free information on the internet, and lots of friends can offer free advice, and there are a lot of books on the topic too. When you hire an experienced professional, you can often save a lot of time, money, and hassle, because with eyes on your dog we can customize. What is written on the internet or in a book may apply to some dogs, but not always will it apply to your particular case, and applying a technique incorrectly or for the wrong problem may end up making things worse. In the long run, a lot of our clients spent time and money trying to get it right on their own, only to still end up with us in the end.
Most clients notice a difference within the first session or two. Real, lasting change takes consistency and practice on your end, but you won't be waiting months to see any progress. For clients who want ongoing support, we offer multi-month program packages where Lynne becomes your dedicated coach throughout the process, not just a one-time session.
We offer both. We do in-home sessions throughout the Uintah Basin, sessions at our location, and live virtual sessions for clients anywhere in the world. During your free phone consult we'll figure out what format makes the most sense for your dog and situation.
Our group classes aren't just about practicing commands in a controlled environment. We take field trips out into the real world, because that's where your dog actually needs to behave. Real distractions, real situations, real results. It's also a social experience for both you and your dog, and we've seen great friendships formed over the years between owners who share a common goal.
