Real field trips and freeplay, not just a quiet room. It starts with a free phone consult, then you pick what fits: a single visit, a set of 7, or working toward VIP Team access.
Puppies need real, structured socialization early on — not just meeting a few dogs in the yard, but supervised practice around other dogs, new people, and new places while it's still easy to shape. And no dog's training is ever really "finished." New distractions, new environments, and new situations keep showing up for life, so skills need to keep getting proofed against the real world, not just practiced once and left alone.
Group class is where both of those things happen.
"Group class is where a dog learns that listening to you matters even when the whole world is more interesting than you are."
— Lynne
Alongside structured practice, you'll get regular field trips and freeplay sessions so your dog gets reps around real distractions — not just in a controlled space. Think farm stores, downtown sidewalks, parks, and trails, not just four walls.
It's genuinely social too. You'll meet other dogs and owners working through the same stuff you are, and plenty of our longtime students have become good friends along the way.
Lynne runs every group herself, watching each dog individually even while the group works together. That means real coaching in the moment, not just a room full of dogs left to sort themselves out.
Whatever mix shows up that day — giant breeds, toy breeds, working lines — the same hands-on guidance applies to all of them.
For puppies, it's structured, supervised socialization at the age it matters most. For dogs further along, it's ongoing proofing, since every dog needs regular practice against real distractions to keep what they've learned solid. Whatever stage your dog is at, class content flexes to who's in the room that day.
Foundations includes 1 group class visit, and our Mastery programs include 2, so you're getting a taste of group practice as part of private lessons, not as a separate add-on. From there, group class is a core piece of our maintenance packages — the ongoing support that keeps skills proofed and sharp long after a program wraps up. Foundations grads unlock VIP Team access after completing one set of 7, Mastery grads get it as alumni, and group-only students unlock it after three sets of 7. Lynne can also pre-approve handlers directly.
Every program starts the same way: a free 20-30 minute phone consult first, then we get you into the right option below — no one just shows up cold.
This is what unlimited VIP access actually looks like — five dogs holding a down-stay together through an entire restaurant meal, food and all. Our VIP dogs are some of the most trained dogs in the Basin, and outings like this are exactly how they get there and stay there.
A single visit is one class with no commitment. A set of 7 gives you 14 weeks to use those 7 classes on your own schedule. VIP Team is unlimited, ongoing access to any group class location or field trip — but it has to be unlocked first (see below).
A few paths get you there: complete a Mastery program and you're in as alumni, complete Foundations and then one set of 7, or complete three sets of 7 if you haven't done private lessons with us. Lynne can also pre-approve handlers directly on a case-by-case basis.
Usually, this starts with private lessons rather than group. Reactivity and aggression need one-on-one work on the underlying issue first, and private lessons roll right into group class once your dog is ready — Foundations and Mastery both include group visits as part of the program. Talk to us on the free consult and we'll map out the right starting point.
We'll go over exactly what to bring during your phone consult and upon signup, but generally: your dog on a well-fitted leash and collar, plenty of small treats, and comfortable shoes — some sessions include field trips out into the real world, so be ready to walk.
No obligation, no pressure — just a real conversation about your dog. We'll figure out exactly what's going on and make sure group class is the right fit.
